Tundra Vutzui – Yinjichidhele | Episode 1 “The Land That Watches Us”

“Respect is the first step. When we listen to the land, the land listens back.”

Episode 1 opens with a quiet truth many of us in the North already feel in our bones. The tundra is shifting. The rivers run lower. The moss grows thinner. Even the wind carries a tired song. In this premiere, we meet Tundra, a young caribou who senses these changes before anyone speaks them aloud.

He walks gently across the morning frost toward the Elder Circle, where Elder Willow, Elder Stone, and Elder Snowmane wait with the kind of wisdom that only comes from living many seasons with the land. Their teachings remind us of something our Elders have always said: we are not above the land — we are part of it.

When Raven arrives with urgent news — disappearing fish, restless wolves, early‑moving muskox — Tundra realizes that respect is not just a value. It is an action. A responsibility. A way of walking.

Episode 1 sets the tone for the entire series: a journey of balance, humility, and listening deeply to the world around us.
